Fined £30 For Taking Bus
(N.Z. Press Aisociation) AUCKLAND, November 21. Two English seamen who converted a £6OOO bus for a joke were each fined £3O and disqualified from driving for two years by Mr M. C. Astley, S.M., today. John Kervin, aged 18, and Peter Edward Mathiassen, aged 19, were appearing for sentence after being convicted last week of unlawfully taking an Auckland Bus Company vehicle on November 13. Both had pleaded not guilty. Each was ordered to pay £22 17s 6d toward the damage done to the side of the bus.
