A.N.Z. Bank Profit Rises 16 p.c.
(Neu> Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 22. The Australia and New Zealand Bank, Ltd., London, increased its profit by £335,292, or 16 per cent, to £2,435,186 in the year to September 30, directors say in a preliminary report.
A recommended final dividend of 7 per cent again makes a total dividend of 12 per cent for the year. The group profit includes a trading bank profit £266,545 higher at £2,113,895. This profit includes a dividend of £193,920 from the A.N.Z. Savings Bank, Ltd., representing 12 per cent on unchanged issued capital. Profits of the subsidiary included in the group figure were marginally higher than in 1965. The A.N.Z. Savings Bank (New Zealand), which began business on October 1, 1964,
again showed a satisfactory increase in deposits. The latest dividend is payable on January 12.
