Caretaker Govt. For Holland

(A'.Z PA.-Reuter—Copyright) THE HAGUE, November 22. Holland’s new caretaker Government under Professor Jelle Zijlstra, will be sworn in today with a Parliamentary mandate to take all measures to avert an economic crisis.

The new Government, formed yesterday after two previous attempts to end the fiveweek Cabinet crisis had failed. will also pave the way for General Elections in February.

Professor Zijlstra, aged 48. a former Minister and Holland’s foremost financial expert. will hold the key posts of Prime Minister and Finance Minister in the new administration.

He has said his Cabinet will not be bound by Parliament but will take only measures strictly necessary to steer the economy out of an inflation and balance of payments crisis and the shadow of unemployment and industrial shut-downs. “Swift Action”

Professor Zijlstra said there was no need for panic but action would have to be swift to avert the worst dangers. He said immediate measures would include a sixmonth postponement of a proposed income tax cut and the bringing forward of an increase in turn-over tax from January. 1968, to next January. his 13-member Roman Cath-olic-Protestant coalition seven Ministers from the former coalition headed by the Roman Catholic Prime Minister Mr Joseph Cals.

The Cals Cabinet fell on October 14 on a Roman Catholic motion of no confidence over the 1967 budget.
