N.Z. Lamb
Sir, —Dr. McMeekan is only telling the truth about the condition of our meat overseas. I was in England in 1963. One butcher in Stanwick, Carlisle, informed me that he would not stock it; if he did he would lose his customers. The smell of it cooking is enough to turn anyone away. The reason why: the animal heat is frozen into it instead of its being cold before being put into the freezer. I would like some of the farmers who are up in arms about the truth to have seen what I saw when over there. I give Dr. McMeekan credit for coming out into the open about it.—Yours, etc., J. K. ARMSTRONG. Blackball, November 20, 1966.
