Change To Yellow Upper Hutt Fire Brigade will have New Zealand’s first yellow fire-engine. Purely as an experiment one of its conventional red machines is being repainted a bright yellow. Fewer Birds The bird-strike summary for April to September showed a marked reduction of incidents at the Christchurch Airport, and the Airline Pilots’ Association was pleased with the results, the airport committee reported to the City Council last evening. “The general position throughout New Zealand is that improved conditions are being observed at all airports and experiments are continuing in many areas,” the committee added. Auckland Plan The Auckland Harbour Board’s ambitious downtown redevelopment scheme is featured in the quarterly issue of the journal of the International Association of Ports and Harbours, the headquarters of which is in Japan. The front and back covers of the journal are devoted to a photograph of Auckland city, with the harbour board’s proposed buildings superimposed. Six pages of the journal give a report on Auckland and the operation of the port.
