DRIVER FINED
After the New Zealand Derby Stakes at Addington, D. Mangos, the driver of Stewart Hanover, was fined £l5 for moving ground abruptly at the seven furlongs, causing Stylos (D. C. Watts) to be pushed wide. The judicial committee questioned both drivers and viewed a film of the incident before making its decision.
Humphrey was declared ineligible to race at a totalisator meeting until December 26 inclusive after the Flying Handicap. It was found that Humphrey (W. E. Lowe) ran out at the start, checking Allakasam, Password and Bright Highland, which fell.
An inquiry was held into the the breaking of Friendly Tom in the Churchill Handicap. It was foupd that Friendly Tom touched the sulky wheel of Tutta Tryax and broke. Indecision, which was on the inside of him, had his tongue over the bit and was running greenly, and moved out taking Friendly Tom’s position. As a result Friendly Tom was unable to regain correct gait for some time.
