University Halls
Sir,—Two comments I would like to make on the report of th? student survey on student accommodation, which appeared on Saturday. I feel that only residents are competent to give an opinion on the absolute value of living in a hall of residence. In the case of others, it is largely a question of “ignoti nulla cupido.” In the hall with which I am associated there are 70 applications for eight rooms available. Other halls would, I think, give like .figures. There is a good case for student flats. It in no «y invalidates the case for halls of residence under church direction.—Yours, etc., F. D.
