Blower Plant Stolen
The theft of an insulation blower plant, worth £9BO, by a confidence trick was reported to the Christchurch C.LB. yesterday. A man telephoned Fibredown Insulation (Canterbury), Ltd., 58 Hawdon street, on Thursday and said that Andrews and Beaven, Ltd., an engineering company, would be calling for the plant to fit new pulleys to it. The plant was duly taken away. It was not returned, and yesterday the insulation
firm made inquiries at Andrews and Beaven, Ltd. It was discovered that nobody from Andrews and Beaven, Ltd., had telephoned or called at the insulation firm. The plant is still missing. The plant is used for spreading insulating materials in ceilings and walls. Detectives would be grateful if anyone seeing a stray insulation blowing plant got in touch with them at the Christchurch Central Police Station immediately.
