Police Guard On Court
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 10. Police guarded the exits to the courtroom when three men, who escaped from Rotorua gaol on October 3, appeared today before Mr Justice Moller for sentence on a total of 58 charges. The men appeared in the dock handcuffed together after the police had heard a rumour of an escape attempt. His Honour sentenced the three men—John Leathers, aged 25, a bushman, Bruce Simon, aged 24, a workman, and Gordon Armsby, aged 23, a lineman—to a total of 4} years each.
