Rangatira On Market Again
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 10. Negotiations between the Union Steam Ship Company and the Eastern buyers for the sale of the 6000-ton Rangatira have collapsed and the ship is back on the market. A Union Company official said today that it did not appear likely that the 35-year-old vessel would be sold before Christmas. The Rangatira was withdrawn from the steamer-ex-press service 11 months ago and is laid up in Wellington. The company is hoping to sell the ship as a going concern, not as scrap. “We would expect to obtain a better price as such,” said the official.
