Heavy Holiday Bookings
(N.Z. Prest Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 6. Bookings for sailings of the Wahine and the Maori, during the Christmas and New Year period, have been reported as “heavy” by a Union Steam Ship Company spokesman. Space for passengers’ motor cars was heavily booked from mid-December until the end of January next year, and there was a waiting list, he said. However, the spokesman said there were still a few vacancies late in December. Passenger accommodation was still available on many sailings in this period. Eight extra sailings in each direction had been scheduled These comprised four daylight crossings, and four Sunday evening sailings, from both Wellington and Lyttelton.
