1 ■ i Southland Club The Southland Racing Club will hold its seventy-fifth jubilee meeting on January 3 and 7. To mark the occasion the club has increased stakes by £lOOO, and the Invercargill Jubilee Gold Cup (one mile five furlongs), the feature event, will carry a stake of £2lOO, Stakes for all events over the two days have been increased. ! “We are going to make a j special effort to secure some i good class northern horses at i the meeting." Mr W. A. H. , : Thompson, president of the 1 Southland club, said yesterday. ! “With southern horses of the [ calibre of Eiffel Tower, Court j Belle, Summer Magic, Cassarook. Palisade, Moyal Bid, Bellbridge and others, the club felt that it should go to all lengths to cater for horses of this class," he said.
