A young man carrying a placard with the word “Murderer” written on it in red letters walked through the Dunedin Town Hall Concert Chamber while the Prime Minister was addressing an election meeting there last night Mr Holyoake interrupted his speech to ask the man how old he was.

“Twenty,” was the reply. “And old enough to be killed in Vietnam.” The man then joined a group of youths seated at the front of the hall. Various members of the group continued to interrupt and heckle the Prime Minister until the Mayor of Dunedin (Mr R. J. Calvert), who presided at the meeting, threatened them with ejection.
