Invitation To Clarke
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. A Canterbury invitation to the world recordholder, R. G. Clarke, of Australia, to compete in Christchurch on January 21 was passed on to the Australian Athletic Union by the management committee of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association last evening. Four New Zealand athletes have been invited to compete in indoor meetings in the United States in January and February. They are J. L. Davies or R. P. Welsh, I. S. Studd, W. D. Baillie and Mrs M. A. M. Stephen. The association decided to pass the letters to the athletes’ respective centres to see if they were available.
