Protest On Vietnam
Sir, —How far will this censoring of newspaper articles that the editor thinks are not in “good taste” go on? I was under the naive impression that we had a “free press” that would publish any factual article, commentary or advertisement.—Yours etc. DISILLUSIONED DEMOCRAT. October 20, 1966.
Sir,—lt is pleasing to note that at least one New Zealand newspaper has had the good taste to forgo its share of the £6Ol collected by one of Wellington’s university intelligentsia to pay for full-page antiVietnam advertisements on the occasion of the President’s visit. May 1 express the hope that “The Press,” also, will decline to be “in for its chop”?—Yours etc. OBSERVER. October 19, 1966.
