“The Press’' Special Servlet DUNEDIN, Satinette recorded the besi sprint at Wingatui yesterdaj when the final gallops for the Gore meeting were held undei ideal conditions. Combinatior and Calvados, two other candi dates for the Members’ Handi cap. the first leg of the Gon double, also worked impres sively. The gallops were held 15 fee out on the course proper. Thi fast times showed the excellen state of the track. Satinette was keen to galloi and her race rider. P. J. Silver had to restrain her until th< half-mile. She ran the first fur long in 12 2-ssec and complete! a strong gallop in 50sec. Combination (F. Austin) in creased the pace to complex the distance in 50 4-ssec. Queen Neptune <S. B. furlongs In Imin 3 4-srec. the '.ast three furlongs in 38 l-ssec. This time was equalled by Pan ace (J. D. Pankhurst) and Arctic Lad (P. J. Silver), which sprinted the last three furlongs , in 38 4-ssec. Dervic <R. N. Marsh) and Flowing Gold (J. L. Coulter) i were on terms in Imin 4sec. Nelson River (G. O. Finn) could have improved on her : effort of Imin 4 4-ssec, the first > two furlongs in 26sec. l Calvados (S. B. Robertson) and Left Over (J.
