SUCCESSFUL WORLD TOUR
N.Z. Roller Hockey Team
The New Zealand roller hockey team has met with considerable success on its world tour. Its wins have been against Belgium, 7-5, Wolverhampton and Herne Bay (England) 5-1, and Folkestone, England’s top side, 7-5. The team also drew with Italy, 4-alI, and lost at Essen, Germany, 3-2, after leading 2-1 at half-time. According to reports received in Christchurch, the New Zealand team was brilliant against Folkestone and the players impressed English spectators with their fast play and manoeuvrability. Advice has also been received that the president of the World Federation of Roller Skating, Mr Oliveras de la Riva, has asked that a New Zealand team take part in the next world championships. These will be held in Portugal in 1968.
