Gift To Charity
Whenever the Mayor (Mr G. Manning) was given money to distribute to the charities of his choice, she always reminded him about the Plunket Society, said Mrs Manning, the branch patron, at the annual meeting of the Christchurch branch of the society. Mr Manning presented to the president (Mrs N. M. Peryer) a cheque for £lO on behalf of the Macfarlane Trading Company, Ltd., and Radley Brothers, Ltd. These companies each gave Mr Manning for charity a cheque for £2O to mark the opening of the new markets earlier this week.
