T.V Z. Press Assn. — Copyright) LONDON. Liverpool won a place in the last 16 of the European Champions’ Cup soccer competition yesterday when it beat the Rumanian club. Petrolul Ploesti, 2-0, in a preliminary round play-off in Brussels. The teams had finished the home-and-away matches level at 3-3, but yesterday Liverpool was right on top. In a Scottish League Cup semi-final at Glasgow, Rangers and Aberdeen drew, 2-2. after extra time.
