Tides Remain Normal
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 19. Harbour instruments in Auckland today failed to detect any effects of an earthquake in central Peru yesterday. A small tidal wave was expected to have reached New Zealand about 2 a.m., but tidal indicators in Auckland failed to register any change in flows. Other equipment also failed to detect any small tidal wave
The Oriental Queen, which arrived in Auckland this morning from Sydney, did not notice any effects of the earthquake.
