FORMER RHODESIAN PREMIER AGAIN FREE.—Mr Garfield Todd, the New Zealand-horn former Prime Minister of Southern Rhodesia, shopping in Gwelo last Tuesday, Ms first day of complete freedom for a year. By order of Mr Ian Smith’s administration, Mr Todd was confined for 12 months to Ms farm, about 200 miles from Salisbury. The order of restriction expired at midnight on October 17. Mr Todd opposed the unilateral declaration of independence and championed the cause of ultimate African majority rule in Rhodesia.
