Cable-car Damage
(N.Z. Preii Ainociation) WELLINGTON, Oct. 19. Two men and a 17-year-old girl student appeared before Mr R. D. Jamieson, S.M., today, charged with wilful damage to the extent of £2O, to the Wellington cable car and terminus early today. lan Stafford Campbell, aged 20, a process worker, and Alan Ronald Grainger, aged 29, a toolmaker, and the girl, whose name was suppressed, were separately charged with wilful damage of the cable car and terminus and jointly charged with behaving in a disorderly manner in the cable-car terminus. Sergeant P. H. O’Donnell asked that all three be remanded to appear on Friday. “The police have been instructed to oppose bail,” said Sergeant O’Donnell. On the application of their counsel, the accused were all granted bail.
