Protest On Vietnam
Sir, —I understand that a display advertisement, giving notice of a demonstration organised by the Christchurch Joint Council on Vietnam, was to have appeared in today’s issue of “The Press.” Could you please explain why this advertisement was not published?—Yours, etc., GEOFFREY A. LANE, October 19. 1966. [This advertisement, and another projected for today, were withheld on the ground that it would have been a breach of good taste on the part of the paper to print these advertisements while the President of the United States is an official guest in this country.—Ed., “The Press.”]
