SUCCESSFUL DAY
The North Canterbury Racing Club had good financial support for the first day of its spring meeting, postponed from last Friday until yesterday. The on-course turn-over was £29,362, compared with £19,731 10s on the Friday before Labour week-end last year.
Off-course investments yesterday totalled £106,739 ss, compared with £87,436. The weather was fine and the track dead.
