Challenge Golf Referee
i (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. I Mr P. C. Joyce, president |of the Auckland District j Golf Association, and a former club captain of the Auckland Golf Club, has been appointed referee for the Benson and Hedges challenge golf match between the two former British Open champions, R. J. Charles (New Zealand) and A. Palmer (United States), at the Middlemore club’s course on October 23.
Both champions should be well served by the caddies, who have been appointed for the match. One is the champion of the Auckland club, B W. Robinson. The other is the runner-up, M. B. G. Thompson, a former Auckland representative.
