LICENSED CLUBS
Move For New Hours
The staggering of hours for licensed clubs had nothing to do with politics, so it did not matter whether an approach was made to the Government before or after the General Election, Mr T. McCormick said at a meeting of the executive of the Christchurch Returned Services’ Association last evening. He was supported by Mr D. Barrett, the president, who said: “If we are going to get anywhere we must do it immediately.” They were discussing a report of the Dominion executive committee which said that an approach for a staggering of hours had been left until after the election.
