Locomotive Converted
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 29. A diesel shunting locomotive was taken from the Stratford locomotive shed while the driver and his assistant were at tea last evening. It was driven a short distance before running into a waggon which was pushed into a steam locomotive. The buffers of the waggon and the steam locomotive were badly bent and the impact caused one of the air reser-j voirs on the shunting locomotive to jump out of its setting and break an air pipe. The police are investigating.,
