Injured, But Will Ride
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Although still stiff and sore, S. Stephen, the brilliant Canterbury Junior cyclist, has decided to ride in the national 50-mile road championship at Napier on Friday. Stephen crashed while sprinting at the end of a training race on Sunday, and had eight stitches inserted in his arm. He also suffered abrasions of the legs. In spite of his injuries, Stephen expects to do well on Friday. On his performances before the crash, he was considered favourite to take the title.
