Landscaping Considered "The committee is concerned at the effect of the intrusion of the motorway into a residential area and will be considering the question of landscaping both the medians and the side clearances, and adequate space requirements for these,” the city development committee said in its report to the City Council last evening. It was discussing the St. Albans section of the northern motorway part of the master transport plan. “The topography of the area has a great bearing on suitable space requirements for side clearances along this particular section." The council agreed that the District Commissioner of Works (Mr D. B. Dallas) be advised of the council’s concern and that it wished to discuss landscaping and side clearances with the National Roads Board in due course.
