BRITANNIA CRASH

(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) BELGRADE, Sept. 17. An official Jugoslav inquiry today blamed the pilot for the crash of a British Britannia aircraft earlier this month near Ljubljana. Ninety-eight people, including the pilot, died in the crash. The inquiry commission said he was flying too low, but it could not establish why. In Luton, England, the managing director of Britannia Airlines, Mr J. E. D. Williams, said tonight that investigations into the crash were far from completed- “ What we want to know is why the pilot was flying too low,” Mr Williams said.
