PRAYER FOR VIETNAM
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) VATICAN CITY, Sept. 18. The Vatican announced yesterday that Pope Paul will issue an encyclical letter on Monday dedicating October as a world wide month of prayer to end the war in Vietnam. A Vatican statement described the encyclical—the fourth of Pope Paul’s reign —as “a pontifical document of notable importance ... an encyclical letter in which the Holy Father will invite the faithful of all the world to special prayers in-the coming month of October.” Vatican officials said the month would be marked for intensified prayers by the world’s Roman Catholics for peace in Vietnam.
