‘EQUAL TO DOCTORS’
Pharmacists’ Education CN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 11. Pharmacists and doctors questioned on a petition by the Parliamentary Education Committee had felt that the educational standard of pharmacists was reaching that of doctors, Mr C. J. Moyle (Opp., Manukau) said in Parlip ment on Friday. Because of the rapid increase in the number of drugs and their potency, pharmacists were almost as important as doctors, he said. They held discussions on an almost equal professional basis. Mr Moyle was speaking during consideration of the committee’s recommendation that favourable consideration be given to the petition of Mr R. F. D. Crosby, of Auckland, and three others asking that education for pharmacists be at the University of Otago or some similar university. The House accepted the report.
