FINANCE FOR MOTELS
£75,000 Loan Approved LV.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, Sept. 11. The Government has approved an application from Southern Motels, Ltd., for a £75,000 mortgage which will provide finance for the final stage of the company’s motels at Alexandra. The chairman (Mr R. S. M. Sinclair) said that the money was being made available under the Government’s scheme to give financial help for tourist development facilities.
An immediate start was being made with the restaurant, kitchen block, and bar lounge, which had been held up until the Government finance was approved. The accommodation blocks were almost completed and every effort was being made to have the whole project in use by Christmas, even if it was not fully completed.
