The Tenwa Maru, a 4999ton vessel engaged in the New Zealand-Japan service, was forced to return to seek shelter in Worser Bay at 7.45 a.m. yesterday, after a 12-hour battle with Cook Strait gales. She had sailed from Pipitea wharf at 7.7 p.m. yesterday for Lyttelton.
