Napper Retains Snooker Title
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. L. Napper (Otago) was in excellent form at Oamaru on Saturday when he took the New Zealand snooker championship to retain his title. Napper beat W. Harcourt (Wellington) four games to one in a fine exhibition of snooker by both contenders. In the fourth frame, won by Napper, he scored a best break for the night of 51. The champion lost the first frame 51-64, but took the next four in a row. Results: Semi-finals.—Napper beat L. Glozier (Southland). 57-51, 72-17, 38-70, 70-42, 66-26; Harcourt beat S. Moffitt (North Otago), 81-35, 40-51. 66-45, 76-25, 36-38, 61-45. Final.—Napper beat Harcourt, 51-64, 60-37, 68-22, 91-34, 76-36.
