SYDNEY. The New Zealand-bred Melbourne Cup hope. Prince Grant, and the brilliant three-year-old Prince Max, will clash again at Randwick today. The pair will meet in the ninefurlong Chelmsford Stakes (weight-for-age with allowances). The extra distance should suit Prince Grant, and he is fancied to beat Prince Max, which beat him over seven furlongs at Warwick Farm on August 27.
Prince Grant’s strongest rival is likely to be the New Zea-land-bred colt. Matariki, to which he will concede 241 b.
