Delayed Start At Avondale
The starting time of the Coronation Handicap, the first leg of the T.A.B. double at Avondale yesterday was delayed 20 minutes because of the late scratching of Gold Chick. ,
The Avondale Jockey Club’s veterinary surgeon declared the horse unfit to start. Gold Chick was lame because of a stone bruise and the injury was not noticed until the horses were being taken to the parade ground.
