Game Might Test Raidan In Guineas

The easing of the Wanganui track has done nothing to displace Roman Consul from favour for the Higgie Handicap, first leg of the T.A.B. double on the second day of the Wanganui Jockey Club’s spring meeting today—but it could make Raidan’s job a little harder in the Guineas.

Roman Consul is suited by most conditions, and softer footing could improve his chance. But Big Bill may now be his main rival in the first leg, with Lei and Chatty Lady distinct possibilities. Raidan is undoubtedly at his best on fast going, and Game has shown, while working his way through hack class, that he is suited by winter conditions. Second leg chances today may rest between Feurig and Dunraven, both capable on easy tracks. Selections:
