Mitchell Named For Tennis Tour
(Kew Zealand Prest Association)
WELLINGTON.
The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association has advised the young Canterbury player, J, Mitchell, that it wishes to send him to Australia on the pre-Christmas tournament circuit.
The N.Z.L.T.A. executive has asked Mitchell to confirm that he is fit for match play and to submit the date on which he will be available to go. The N.Z.L.T.A. will be responsible for billets and travelling. Mitchell will be in Australia at the same time as B. E. Fairlie (Auckland). This is the second year that the association has sent Mitchell to Australia.
Both players will be in Australia at the time of the Linton Cup trials, and their selection for the cup team will be principally based on their Australian performances. Fairlie, who was in Australia when the trials were held last year, was included in the team by this method.
The Linton and Wilson Cup trials will be held on December 12, 13, and 14.
