Bartholomew Timbers, Hamilton, has increased its profit by 45.3 per cent, or £13,546, to £43,385 in the year to July 31, says a preliminary statement. A recommended final dividend of 4 per cent makes a steady 8 per cent for the year.

The dividend is payable on capital raised by £47,000 to £282,000 by the one-for-five bonus issue last October and is equivalent to 9.6 per cent on old capital. It will require £3760 more at £22,560. Earning rate on capital is 15.4 per cent and compares with 10.6 per cent last year on the higher capital or 12.7 per cent on the old capital. Latest profit is after £l7B less for depreciation and £12,817 more for tax at £42,117. Final dividend is payable on October 25; ex October 19.
