In Service

The third of four Fokker Friendships bought from Aer Lingus by the National Airways Corporation Went into service yesterday. Staff at the N.A.C. engineering headquarters at Christchurch Airport spent three months, involving about 22,000 manhours, overhauling the aircraft and modifying it to N.A.C. standards, and it was test-flown on Thursday. Work is progressing on the fourth Friendship, which is expected to be in service before Christmas.

Charitable Bequests

Heritage, and the Aged People’s Welfare Council, will benefit under the will of Herbert Harry Conway, a retired farmer, of Christchurch, who died on August 26. Mr Conway left the whole of his estate (apart from one small private bequest) to the two organisations, in equal shares.
