Micheline Should Win At Wanganui
“The Press” Special Service PALMEKSTON NORTH. Micheline could add to the impressive list of successes by northern-trained stayers at Wanganui when she contests the F. F. Newman Handicap, first leg of the T.A.B. double at the Wanganui Jockey Club’s meeting tomorrow. Micheline is in fine form, having won over 11 furlongs at New Plymouth at her last start. Honses from the north are always a force to be reckoned with at Wanganui. Advocacy’s record is legend and Tasman Lad, Tatua, and Jovic are others to have won in recent years. . Advocacy is an acceptor tomorrow but Micheline might be the better prospect. Big Bill and Roman Consul, which have good records at Wanganui, are expected to offer most opposition to Micheline. In the second leg, the Wanganui One Thousand, Surf Boy, Wavering and Autobe might battle it out.
