Hutt Valley Stays In A Grade

The Hamilton men’s team and Nelson women's team both failed in their efforts to beat the two Hutt Valley teams and so qualify for the A grade teams’ competition at next year’s New Zealand table tennis championships. The final teams’ matches provided some excellent play and A. R. Tomlinson (Auckland) suffered a shock double defeat at the hands of M. W. Borlase and H. Waterhouse (Wellington). Hutt Valley was a little lucky to beat Nelson, 6-5, as the result was in doubt until the final point of the final match. Results were:— Northland 7, Canterbury 4 Mrs N. Traill beat Mrs A. J.
