Revenue Rises
Increased traffic and goods tolls for July were reported to the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road Tunnel Authority by its general manager (Mr L. H. Wilson) yesterday. Total revenue, at £14,783, was an increase of 30 6 per cent on July of last year In his analysis of the first four months of the financial year, Mr Wilson showed that there had been an increase of £14.351 in tolls. The budget had provided for tolls of £50.313. but actual receipts were £59,943. Vehicle tolls had been up by £2851, he said The 20.490 tons of goods that went through the tunnel produced £2581, an increase of £6ll.
