Peeress To i Have Babv J • (N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright.) i LONDON, Aug. 31. For the first time in its history of more than 400 years, a member of the House of Lords is expecting a baby, the “Daily Express” reports. The hereditary Lord High Constable of Scotland, the: Countess of Errol, will become a mother in November. At her Aberdeenshire home yesterday the Countess said:! “Of course I am absolutely! thrilled about it. After all, | my last child was born 111 years ago.” Lady Errol, aged 40. and the twenty-seventh hereditary Lord High Constable of Scotland, took her seat in the Lords two years ago. Life peeresses were admitted to the House of Lords in 1958, but hereditary peeresses only joined the ranks in 1963. “I suppose it is something i of a record to be the first; peeress to have a baby after] she has taken her seat in the | Lords,” said Lady Errol, “but X really had not given it much thought.”
