Boys’ Brigade Talks
Twenty-seven Boys’ Brigade company captains from Ashburton, Timaru, Greymouth North Canterbury and Christchurch, will attend a Captains’ Conference in Christchurch on Saturday. The conference is one of four conferences for company captains to be held in New Zealand this year. The other South Island conference will be held at Balclutha on September 10, and the two North Island conferences will be held at Auckland and Palmerston North.
The publicity officer for the Boys’ Brigade (Mr W. F. Bishop), said that discussions at the conference would include general organisation and administration of the brigade, with emphasis on a general programme, regional and local problems, relations of members of the company’s staff with other organisations, and the future of the Brigade. The conference will be conducted by Mr J. L. Bush, the New Zealand vice-president. Others attending will be Mr H. Nicol, the New Zealand field officer, Mr A. Dornan, the New Zealand secretary, Mr D. Giblin, the Canterbury battalion training officer, Mr D. L. Wilkinson, secretary of the Canterbury battalion, Messrs S. W. Mcßae (Timaru) and S. F. Postleweight (Greymouth), members of the New Zealand executive.
