Shooting Of Sheep
Sir, —Not for the first time, a local farmer has lost sheep, shot by some murderous vandals for whose contemptible activities no words printable in these columns are adequately expressive. If ever there was a case for a hue and cry, it is this; and one hopes that the police will get all possible assistance in their search for the malefactors. There must be people who have a pretty good idea who the culprits are; and if they are the sort, of whom not a few exist, who say, “It’s none of my business,” perhaps, just for once, they will adopt a rather more public-spirited attitude towards an outrage that is, essentially, every bit as much their business as anyone else's.—Yours, etc., ILAM.
