COMPANIES’ VENTURE
Manufacture
Of Switchgear
PD.L. Industries, Ltd., of Christchurch, and the Midland Electric Manufacturing Company. Ltd., of England, in a joint venture, will manufacture lower tension switchtear and motor control gear in Christchurch. The governing director of PD.L. (Mr R. H. Stewart) said this in Christchurch yesterday.
Agreement, he said, was reached this week between himself and M.E.M.’s joint managing director (Mr N. C. Rlvthe) and marketing director (Mr J. C. H Tucker).
Mr Stewart said that both
companies would retain their separate identities. But Rosniak. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of P.D.L. Indus•nes. would become a joint developing company for the production of switchgear and motor control gear. It would be registered probably from April 1 next year, as M.E.M. (N.Z.), Ltd. Mr Stewart will be the managing director of the new company.
He said that P.D.L. would acquire a shareholding in M.E.M. (Australia), Ltd. This was to develop exports of the new company’s products, and to further increase the sale of P.D.L. Industries products in Australia. Mr Stewart will also be managing director of the Sydney company.
