The Tibetan Children Relief Society now had enough money to build a New Zealand home for Tibetan refugees and orphans, the president of the Auckland branch (Mrs A. G. Buckland) told a meeting yesterday. The home, in Dharamsala, northern India, would cost £2OOO.
“We were going to pay just for the home, but it may be possible for us now to help to furnish it,” Mrs Buckland said. “As soon as we have seen the plans for the building, we hope construction can start.”
