(N.Z. Press Association!
GREYMOUTH. The New Zealand marathon champion, D. McKenzie, of Greymouth, who had to withdraw from the Commonwealth Games team because of a hairline fracture of the left leg has now recovered completely. McKenzie has resumed training and has designed his campaign to bring him to peak fitness with a minimum of effort.
Next Saturday he will have his first run in a race for six months.
He will also represent the Greymouth Harrier Club in the Motueka-to-Nelson sevenman relay in a fortnight. The club holds the race record and title for the event.
